About Florida Law

According to new laws (Florida statutes 316.074 and 316.075) there are certain circumstances in which you will lose your license immediately if you don’t complete and pass an approved Florida traffic school course. If you have experienced any of the following, you MUST take and pass a course before driving any motor vehicle on Florida roads:

  • You passed a stopped school bus
  • You were convicted of reckless driving
  • You were convicted of highway racing
  • You were convicted of being a spectator at a highway race
  • You ran a stop sign
  • You caused an accident in which someone was transported to the hospital
  • You had two accidents within a two-year period which caused more than $500 total property damage
  • You ran a red light

With these new statutes, it’s obvious that the state of Florida is serious about requiring a greater number of people to go to traffic school. We’re ready to help with a fun and painless way of getting you back on the road. As soon as you complete your course you can instantly download the results, and we will process your graduation certificate on the same day you pass the course.

1. When do I get my certificate? Do I need to turn in my certificate to the court and DMV?

Your certificate will be ready for FREE download within 30 minutes after you complete the course.

Reporting to the COURT

If you received your ticket in these three counties:

  • Broward,
  • Palm Beach, or
  • Miami/Dade

you do not need to do anything. We report to the court for you. If you received your ticket in a county other than those three listed above, you are responsible for taking or mailing the completion certificate to the court.

Reporting to the DMV

For all counties , your completion information will be transmitted to the DMV on your behalf as soon as you complete the course. If you are completing TCAC course you DO NOT need to do anything else your completion will be reported and dismissed. However we do strongly suggest that you check your driving record few weeks after the course completion to make sure that proper credit was issued and your license status is valid.

2. Now that I have my certificate, what should I do?

4 Hour Basic Driver Improvement Course (TCAC): We report your course completion to the Florida DMV for you. To check your completion with the DHSMV website, click here: Traffic School Completion Check. It is your responsibility to make sure the Court Clerk of the county where you received your ticket gets a copy of the completion certificate and has updated the court records. Send a copy of the certificate and you may want to follow up after they have had time to update the records. If they do not get the certificate properly recorded, your license could be suspended and you could face additional fines and fees.

3. I have not received my certificate.

During registration, you are given two options for receiving your certificate:

  • US Regular Mail or
  • Instant Download

If you select US Regular Mail, your certificate will be mailed to the address you provide during registration, and you should receive it in 3 – 5 days. If you select Instant Download, your certificate will be available for printing within a half-hour after you complete the course.

4. It’s been more than a half hour and I still can’t print out my Instant Certificate.

Certain errors on the registration form can cause the DMV to reject your information. This includes:

  • Incorrect or incomplete driver license number.
  • For out-of-state license, incorrect driver license state was selected.
  • Incorrect citation number* (should be in the format 1234-ABC-X).
  • Missing social security number (required for the TCAC course).
*unless you entered INSUDIS for insurance discount. Please call our Customer Support Department at 800-660-8908 between 10 AM – 10 PM and will be happy to help you.

5. My certificate prints incorrectly (or not at all).

If you can open the certificate in Adobe Acrobat Reader and view it properly, but it won’t print, then you need to update your printer driver. You can usually find these drivers available online.
