How Long Will it Take to Earn My Learner's Permit?

The length of the course will depend on how quickly or slowly you want to move through it. Also, because you can sign in and out of the course at any time, individual finishing time can vary quite a bit.

However, the state of Indiana does require at least 30 hours of state-licensed schooling to complete a driver's ed course — and the State also requires that you spend no more than 3 hours per day taking the course, so your Indiana Driver Education course will take you a minimum of 10 days to complete.

Once you've enrolled in the course, you will be able to print your Certificate of Driver Education (CDE), which you can take with you to the BMV to apply for your Learner's Permit. In addition to presenting your proof of enrollment in an approved driver education program (CDE), you will also be required to present documents of identification, pass a vision screening test and pass a knowledge examination in order to get your Learner's Permit.

If you work diligently, you can finish the entire process in just a few days. But don't worry — you can also take your time, too.

Pass Your BMV Exam in a No-Sweat Fashion

If you want to ace your learner's exam in the first go, there's no better way than being extra-prepared. Accordingly, this course comes with a 30-question practice exam, and you can take it as many times as you need. Refreshing the exam will sort the questions in a different order, allowing you to mix it up while you're learning. You'll be able to know your exact score and standing as well as track your progress along the way. By the end of the practice portion, you'll be ready to breeze right through your Indiana permit test at the BMV.

Indiana Student Driver Rights

The BMV takes driver's ed very seriously, and so do we. They want all driver's ed students to know their driver's education rights and responsibilities.
