1) The Driver Safety Program should be approved by the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

Be aware of national providers that may not be approved in Indiana. The last thing you want is to spend your day earning a certificate that won’t help you and isn’t accepted by all courts and the BMV.

2) Make sure the driver safety program school makes the certificate of completion available same day and it reports to Indiana BMV the following day including Saturdays and Sundays.

You want to choose a driver safety program school that provides you a certificate of completion the same day to avoid delays. Also, selecting a school with next day reporting to BMV is critical if you are running close to the deadline.

3) Traffic school fees should be all-inclusive.

You will see many traffic schools offering courses for a very low fee, just to find out that you will be required to pay mailing, reporting, processing, and other fees to get what you need. Make sure the total price is disclosed upfront so you know what you are getting for that price. The average price for the IN BMV Driver Safety Program is between $35 to $45.

4) Ensure the traffic school reports your certificate to the BMV for FREE.

You want to find a school that will submit your completion certificate to the BMV. The last thing you want after you’ve completed your course is to spend another day trying to submit your certificate to the BMV. Even if you try and submit your completion to the BMV it will not be accepted. The BMV will only accept a completion reported from the accredited school.

5) The course offered should be mobile and cross-device friendly.

Finding a course that is mobile and cross-device friendly provides the maximum convenience. Cross-device courses allow you to start on a desktop, then continue working on your mobile device, then come back to your desktop. You want to be able to work on the course at any location and on any device that is most convenient to you.

Yes, our course is approved by the Indiana BMV, and you can view us on their list of approved providers here:

You can take this 100% online course if you’ve received a formal notice, or were referred by the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) or by a court to complete a Defensive Driving – Driver Safety Course (DSP) for a ticket dismissal.

The online course has a time requirement of 4 hours (240 minutes) which is mandated by the Indiana BMV.

Absolutely not! We understand you may have a busy schedule so we created a course that you can complete at your own pace. There is a course timer to keep track of your progress, but you can complete the course in more than one sitting.

Great question! In trying to improve our customer satisfaction, we have implemented electronic reporting 7 days a week! This means your completion will be reported the following day INCLUDING Saturday and Sunday! The Indiana BMV usually updates the completion within a couple of days. If it's the weekend, it wont be updated until the following week.

While some schools have you request your certificate of completion, and can even offer it via mail, we provide you a certificate of completion that you can print out almost immediately upon completion.

We have 24/7 customer service oto those taking our Indiana defensive driving course ready to assist you, feel free to call 1-800-660-8908 or email support@myimprov.com.
