MyImprov's District of Columbia Defensive Driving Course is a comprehensive online program tailored to equip D.C. drivers with essential defensive driving skills, in-depth knowledge of traffic laws, and proven safe driving techniques. Our course is designed to enhance road safety and reduce accidents.

The DMV will contact you after you’ve received a ticket; you’ll be informed if you are eligible to attend a defensive driving program and have your points removed.

Once the DMV contacts you and confirms your eligibility you’ll have 30 days to enroll in and complete a defensive driving course. Once you have successfully completed the traffic school program, the points will be waived (the violation will still appear on your record, but the points will not count against you).

If you opt not to take a defensive driving program, points will stay on your record for two years.

Insurance rates are likely to rise after you’ve received a moving violation or been involved in an accident. Many insurers offer to retain your original premium costs if you complete a defensive driving program. No accidents? Ask your insurer how becoming a safer driver can help you save.

-Expect to take about 8 hours to complete the program.

Accumulate too many points and you risk suspension or revocation of your driver’s license. In Washington D.C., the DMV has created a system designed to keep track of your driving record and let you know if your license is at risk.

Losing your driving privileges could impact every aspect of your life; when you complete a defensive driving course you can reduce your risk.

Yes, the course concludes with a final exam consisting of multiple-choice questions related to the course content. Passing the exam with a minimum score is required for course completion, but don’t worry, the exam is not proctored and you’ll get as many attempts as you need to pass!

Certainly! Our user-friendly format acknowledges the demands of your schedule. You can pause and resume your progress effortlessly – your work will be saved for your convenience. Not only that, but your course can be completed device, or devices, of your choosing!

Yes, upon successfully finishing the course and passing the final exam, you'll receive proof of completion. Typically, you can download or print this proof directly from our course website.
