What is the Florida Wireless Communications Device (WCD) Safety Course?
It is a 90-minute, HSMV-approved online course for Florida drivers who received their first citation for using a handheld wireless device while driving through a school zone, school crossing zone, or work zone. Completing it allows the clerk of court to dismiss the citation. The associated fine may be waived, and the 3 points that would have been assessed are waived by Florida law.

Yes. This course is authorized by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (HSMV) and accepted by all Florida courts for WCD citation resolution.
How long is the course?
The course is 90 minutes, as required by Florida State law. You must spend a minimum of 90 minutes in the course to receive credit. You can complete it in one session or spread it across multiple sessions. You have 30 days from enrollment to complete the course.

How many chapters are in the course?
There are 7 chapters. Each includes reading material, videos, and a 2-question multiple-choice quiz that must be passed before advancing to the next chapter. After all 7 chapters, there is a 20-question multiple-choice final exam where you need to score 16 or higher to pass. The final exam can be retaken as many times as needed at no additional cost.
