Antique cars are pieces of modern engineering history that you can drive, unless you’re an eccentric billionaire who prefers to place them in glass containers for display and guest perusal. Regardless of your purchase intention, you will be mystified by the largest historical auto sale by the Volo Auto Museum.

The Volo Auto Museum has one of the biggest collections of collector cars. And now they’re selling off a finite amount of their stock to anyone who wants to make a bid! Before you start thinking about a good final bidding price, you might want to freshen up on California Drivers Ed to avoid getting into a traffic accident and denting the immaculate exterior when you drive it home from the auction.

Volo Auto Museum

The Volo Auto Museum is a family owned and operated car collector establishment. Established in 1960, the antique car lot has been selling, buying, and trading collector cars inside and outside of Volo, Illinois. This family business has had a mission to purely purchase and sell thousands of collector’s cars every year.

Since its establishment, the museum has been run and operated by three family generations. The museum has displayed 33 different car exhibits ranging from military to vintage campers. They’re also known worldwide for their Hollywood car displays.

Now, because the owners are making way for new collections, you have the chance to purchase a Hollywood set piece, famous movie or TV automobile or collector car with this prestigious museum.

Reduced Price Vehicles

Corvette ZR-1

Among the sales happening at the Volo Auto Museum is a major eye catcher: a Corvette ZR-1. The previous owners were so mindful of the car that they close-to-never drove it. With only 3,740 miles on the odometer, the car rests in the museum in pristine condition.

1973 Dodge Challenger

The 1973 Dodge Challenger is a devil red, hardtop All-American muscle car that’s waiting to be driven off a dirt ramp. Well, dirt-made road. It is a quality piece of American ingenuity that would be a classic piece in anyone’s collection. The sound system in this vehicle was refurbished and priced at about $2,000.

1963 Ford Galaxie 500 R Code Fastback

Darker than night itself, the Ford Galaxie 500 Fastback has a black coat and extremely rare asset for muscle car collector. What’s more is this vehicle still has the majority of the parts it was created with, which leaves this powercar at near original condition. This vehicle was created to be competitive in a NASCAR setting, but you might want to keep in a SAFECAR area.

1971 Chevrolet Nova

If you want to turn heads, then the 1971 Chevrolet Nova would be an excellent choice. The color of the one on sale can only be described as “synergy green,” because of its vibrant appearance. Before you ask, the LED backlights do match the exterior coat. For late night cruises, the car comes equipped with LED lighting to make sure people see you – even in dark areas.

1986 Ferrari Daytona Spyder from Miami Vice

This 1986 Ferrari Daytona Spyder is among the last of its kind. There were only two ever built. The reason being was because the producers of the show Miami Vice wanted an attractive sports vehicle to make the protagonists look even cooler than they were. Now, the Spyder is being auctioned off within the month to – what we would assume – some lucky detective (or lucky Miami Vice fan).

Listen, everyone knows, if you want to be the most popular kid in the school, you have to drive the hottest car. We’re not talking about those hot rods that you see the school’s quarterback driving. That’s the lame wagon. We’re talking about the safest, most secure vehicle you can drive as a teenager.

The only way you will be inducted into the cool, under-the-bleachers hangout spot is if you roll up in a sick, but secure, car!

That’s why we’ve put together a list of the best cars for CA teen drivers. It’s the sure-fire way you will win the respect of your peers! Nothing is more respectable than showing off what you learned in your driver education course in a reliable vehicle. Maybe this time, YOU will be the one giving Chad swirlies.

Honda Odyssey

We know what you might be thinking: a minivan? To SCHOOL? That’s right. Hear us out on this one. Minivans are designed to provide comfort and security to an entire family. With superb space, comfortable seating, and rad sliding doors, you can take your entire D&D club on an odyssey to the cool kid table.

Hyundai Genesis

The Hyundai Genesis received a 5-star safety rating and a 5-star very cool student rating. When you’re rolling up to your high school’s parking lot, you’ll turn heads with this sedan model. Just remember to signal, because road communication applies to parking lots too.

Ford Fusion

The Ford Fusion can fuse you with the popular kids and enlighten you on fuel economy. You’ll enjoy a long range of miles in this vehicle while not having to worry about breaking your high school income budget.

Pontiac Grand Am

They call the Grand Am the grand reliable because it’s a car that just won’t quit, just like your passion to climb the high school’s social ranks. If you really want to impress your fellow classmates, then hop behind the wheel of a Pontiac Grand Am and show everyone how great of a defensive driver you are.

Honda Accord

The Honda Accord is the perfect vehicle for teens. It’s simple, sophisticated (but not in your computer science club kind of way), and it is very fuel efficient. Accord-ing to our records, you’ll chances are high that you’ll befriend the high school point guard in one of these – especially if you get to drive him to practice after school every day. Lucky!

Toyota Sienna

That’s right. It’s another minivan. The Toyota Sienna will give you the comfort of social power and the security you need if you crash into the principal’s Lexus. When you’re leaving detention, you can take the entire cafeteria of delinquents home in one of these.

Honda CR-V

The Honda CR-V will have you saying, “Honda C-YA later, losers!” This vehicle is a powerhouse of efficiency when you’re driving it to and from school. It even has the necessary spacious room you get from a SUV. Next stop, under the bleachers!

Pontiac Vibe

The Pontiac Vibe will be delivering the good vibes to you and your new friend groups. At least, that’s what you’ll tell them when you’re driving them to all the cool parties and you get to sit behind the wheel. Double lucky!

Toyota Camry

The Toyota Camry is a mid-size, fuel efficient vehicle that will make your friends contemplate how often you need to refuel. The Camry is also extremely secure on the roads and has a very soft engine, which will keep you from making a scene when you pull up late or accidently skip out early.

Acura TSX

When you realize that cars can’t win social influence in your high school, the Acura TSX will be there to drive you to your favorite crying spot. It’s also a reliable car that will be there for you through thick and thin. It might be clunky, but it sure is loyal!

defensive driving cars

Buying a car is often regarded as a horrible investment of your money. By the time you drive it off the lot, it depreciates in value – never again reaching the initial price for which you purchased it. That’s why when you buy a car, you want to make sure it will last longer than the time it takes to pay off your auto loans.

So, which new cars last the longest after being purchased?

iSeeCars.com answered this question with their in-depth survey of the cars people owned the longest after driving it off the lot. The factors for why people hold onto these cars varies. However, a few common reasons are reliability with defensive driving, low maintenance cost, and induction as an additional member of the family. Below are the top NEW CARS owned by people the longest after they were purchased.

Ford Expedition

The Ford Expedition is favorite among families – and singles who just want a lot of room. Part of the reason why the Expedition is owned for so long is because of its spacious interior that allows you to store cargo and people. It’s the perfect vehicle investment for the family.

Chevrolet Corvette

People who purchase a Chevrolet Corvette often keep it for 9 years. That’s years of high speed driving down highways and roads in a flashy sports car. It’s no doubt that anybody who owns a Corvette will want to hold onto it like their memories of peaking in high school.

Toyota Sequoia

The Toyota Sequoia is an SUV that caters to families. Which is one major contributor to why it’s owned for so long before being traded or sold. But, if you spent $50,000 on a new car, you would want to get your money’s worth out of it.

Toyota 4Runner

The Toyota 4Runner is perfect vehicle to transport you for the, on average, 8.8 years of ownership. Moreover, its durability makes it a highly reliable car that will happily overstay its welcome. The Toyota 4Runner should be called the Toyota 5Seater, because it fits the entire family.

Toyota Avalon

With another Toyota vehicle ranked on the top list, you can tell their favorite when it comes to a long-term commitment. The Toyota Avalon is no different. It’s a luxury vehicle, and the most luxurious part about it is how long you’ll own it.

Ford Explorer

In the Ford Explorer, you’ll be able to explore the world with the amount of time you have together. Sport utility vehicles are family favorites because they’re comfortable for a group of people and they’ll still fit your luggage.

Chevrolet Suburban

A good suburban is the perfect complement to living in the suburbs. That’s why they’re a popular choice among families. Moreover, they’re the type of car you remember growing up in and wonder what happened to it when you went off to college.

Honda Accord

According to the survey, the Honda Accord is usually owned for 8.3 years before it’s discarded with the rest of the memories you build with it. The reason why the Accord is reliable car is because of its fuel efficiency and comfortable interior.

Ford Taurus

The Ford Taurus is part of Ford’s sedan line. The reason why most people keep their car is because of the power they feel when driving it. That or the reliability of driving a vehicle that’s built tough.

Honda Odyssey

With the Honda Odyssey, you could own it long enough to complete your own little odyssey. At least, you would be able to fit entire ship’s crew inside this large minivan, with its large interior and seating room. Just remember this vehicle isn’t very buoyant

real id online traffic school

If you’ve tried updating your driver’s license in the past year, you may have noticed a few signs that were promoting a new Real ID Driver’s License. This latest issued documentation has been the hottest gossip among DMVs everywhere. Aside from having a flashy title, the Real ID promises to bring some change in how people present their identification.

The only problem is the Real ID Driver’s License is a bit of a mystery to most people.

This latest identification card has people questioning what it is and how it’s important. That’s why we’re putting together everything you need to know about the new Real ID. If there’s one thing your favorite online traffic school knows, it’s everything about licenses.

The Real ID is Real Important

Getting a Real ID is not required by any means. However, the DMV strongly recommends applying for this brand-new identification card. Without a Real ID, you may be restricted from taking domestic flights in the United States.

Starting October 1, 2020, the government will require your driver’s license, permit, or ID card to be Real ID compliant. Below are a few other perks of having a Real ID card. Note, some of these are also built into owning a standard ID.

● Being licensed to drive
● Voting or being registered to vote
● Entering federal facilities
● Receiving federal benefits
● Gaining health services
● Participating in law enforcement proceedings or investigations
● Flying domestically in the United States

The Real ID is a new standardization of minimum security surrounding your identification. Essentially, the federal government is changing the information and details associated with identification. The amount of information is different on the card than your standard ID.

In 2005, the congress passed the Real ID Act, which (you can tell by the name) was the inception of encouraging a new identification card to citizens of the United States. The Real ID Act was passed to combat terrorism and identity theft. Issuing this new government ID will secure people’s identity on a whole new level.

How to get your Real ID Driver’s License

Getting your Real ID is as easy as spending the day at the DMV. In other words, no matter how prepared you will be, you’ll still have to experience going to the DMV. The Real ID cannot be issued over the phone or through mail.

To get your Real ID, you will be required to have the correct documentation. This includes:
● Proof of identity, such as a license, birth certificate, or passport. (Must include first, middle, and last name)
● Proof of social security card
● Proof of your date of birth
● Proof of U.S. citizenship
● Proof of New York residence (or any state that you currently live in,) such as a utility bill, bank statement, or mortgage payment
● If your name does not match the name on the identification due to a governmental approved name change, you must bring in documentation recording that process.

Once you have all these documentations gathered together, you must pay the DMV a visit. Present these documents and request a Real New York ID, to begin the process of updating that bland standard ID into something a little more exciting.

The Real ID will come with a golden star on the top right of your New York issued ID. The gold star is a clear sign that the ID is Real, but it’s also the federal government’s way of saying “good job!”

Traffic jams are the bane to every commuters’ existence. There’s no feeling more infuriating than the one that is caused from having your car stuck in a gridlock while running late for work. They arrive at the worst time!

If everyone decided to enroll in traffic school, we might see a lot less traffic on the roads. But, alas, that day may never come. In the meantime, we can all take pleasure in convincing our friends, coworkers and family members that our traffic tales are the tallest. Everyone has a unique traffic story, and, today we’re compiling a list of the most compelling stories that happen while gridlocked. Here are our top 5 traffic stories.

Baby Birth on Board

In 2013, Atlanta, Georgia experienced a horrific snow storm that brought all cars on its major highway to a halt. People were livid at the sight of mother nature’s white fury covering the roads. They had places to be and people to visit. One couple in particular had somewhere to be – and it was the hospital.

The couple was pregnant with a child and they were on their way to the hospital to give birth. The traffic created a road block for them, but not the baby. “Alice” was there to witness the couple give birth to a baby, with the help of others, in a snowstorm… in traffic. Afterwards, there was a soiree at the nearby Taco Bell to party.

Highway Horsepower

It was just another day for “Bill and Diane.” They were commuting to work in Houston, Texas, the sky was clear, and there was an unusual amount of traffic on the road. In the corners of their eyes, something caught their attention.

As they turned around, they saw a long line of horses walking through the gridlock traffic being manned by their riders. The rodeo was in town, and the horse riders were caravanning to town via horseback. It was a great time for rodeo fans, but a bad time for the 9 to 5’ers.

Changing Perspective

Writer “Antonio” was sitting in traffic one day – as he did every day. Relatable, we know. To the right of his car, a person began honking sporadically. “Antonio” noticed their car was rear ending the vehicle in front of them.

“Antonio” rolled down his window to give the reckless driver a piece of his mind, but, before he could say anything, the driver snapped back at him. They weren’t rear ending the car in front of them, because the car in front of them was backing into them. Just then, “Antonio’s” perspective of the road completely changed.

Needle Through the Thread of Traffic

Seattle is known for its coffee and rain. However, what people often forget is the amount of traffic located in the seaport city. “Will Sanders” was retired and vacationed to the city once a year. From his hotel room, he could see the famous Space Needle in the distance. Then, as every curious tourist decides to do, he got in his car to check out the tower.

What was hoped to be a curious trip through the city turned out to be a horrific experience in stand-still traffic. It took Sanders two and a half hours to finally give up on his journey and head back to his hotel room. After parking, he walked to the Space Needle… in 10 minutes.

Typhoon Season

A lot can happen in 12 hours. For 14-year old Patricia Lontoc, it was getting to know her mom and dad a little bit more while they were in standstill traffic. The reason for the traffic jam was because a typhoon was striking their area.

Where Lontoc is from, Typhoons are a natural part of the season. However, what wasn’t a natural part of the season, was the irreplaceable experience she gained from getting to know her family a bit closer.

new car drivers ed california
Every year, there are a ton of new cars on the market. Each company tries to make the best vehicle, competing with each other using exclusive features, the newest technology, and the occasional sales. However, those who have recently graduated Driver’s Ed California are asking, “Can a new car really compete with a used car?”

The Biggest Difference: Price

There’s a story that you may have heard about new cars. People say they lose half their value the moment you’ve driven your new car off the lot. That’s not entirely true, but the car does lose about 10% immediately, and it can lose up to 30% in the first year. That’s not the best investment. However, a used car has already been through that process and costs significantly less. If the car is only a year or two old, it will still have a lot of the newer features, but it may be several thousand dollars less.

Cost of Insurance

While the costs of insurance can be eased by taking a defensive driving class, it’s still one of the biggest expenses of car ownership. A lot of factors go into insurance rates, and one of those factors is the age of the car. If age were the only factor, older cars would cost less to insure. But this can be balanced out by the safety features of newer cars, which can lower the insurance rate.

History of the Vehicle

There are websites out there that can tell you many things about the history of used cars. The sites can tell you whether the car has been in a flood or sometimes even if the first owner was a smoker. However, the sites can’t tell you how the original owner drove it. Maybe the first owner had a tendency to slam on the brakes, or maybe they wore out the clutch on a manual car. Either way, you’d be buying a car with problems that will need to be fixed fairly soon. Another thing those sites can’t tell you is why the owner decided to part with the car. It might have been repossessed, which is unfortunate for the first owner, but at least the car didn’t do anything wrong. Maybe there’s a problem with the air conditioning that you may not notice if you’re buying the car in winter. Maybe the gas mileage isn’t everything it’s cracked up to be. Buying a new car is one way to get around these potential issues and worries. On the other hand, there could be an issue with a new model of a car, and it could affect every single one. That’s a piece of information no one would know until the problem presented itself.

Thievery

Speaking of worries, there is always the worry of how much other people want to steal your car. Regular levels of car envy are fine. In fact, one of the reasons people buy certain cars are so their friends, loved ones, and even strangers will want the car. The problem is there are always people out there with the ability and resources to actually steal it. If you buy a new car with all the bells and whistles, hopefully one of those extra benefits is an excellent alarm system. A solid wheel lock would also be a solid investment. Unfortunately, no car is ever entirely safe from theft. Even certain used cars are still targets for theft, particularly the very popular cars. Those can be stolen and broken down for parts.

So Which One Is Better?

Ultimately, that choice is up to the buyer. As with many things, it will probably come down to the top argument, the price. Either way, buying a car, new or used, requires extensive research, and a wheel lock is never a bad idea.

At one point in your lifetime, you may have come across a vehicle that didn’t look like anything else you’ve seen. There may have been a flashy accessory, a strange contour, or maybe it had an unrecognizable logo. Chances are, that car was produced by a minor car brand.

Minor car brands are the unknowns of the car manufacturing industry, because they produce specialty cars. They may vary from purely electric-based vehicles to neoclassical eye candy. Each come with their incentives, such as tax deduction on electric vehicles or bragging rights with the aesthetics. Below are 11 minor car brands that you didn’t know existed.

Coda

Lithium iron phosphate batteries are this company’s specialty. When they’re not producing batteries, they’re producing car bodies that use these batteries. Coda is known as a minor car brand that produces fuel-efficient cars that run on a powerful battery.

Fisker Automotive

Fisker Automotive doesn’t just sound like a can of tuna that you’d feed your cat. It’s a minor car brand that manufactures luxury hybrid vehicles. If the luxury wasn’t enough incentive, the yearly tax deduction will be.

Panoz

Panoz is the result of a pharmaceutical mogul who decided his financial portfolio needed its own race car manufacturing company. Their most notable car is the Panoz Esperante. This little-known car brand produces sports cars for competitive racing and road cars for competitive bragging.

Green4U

Green4U isn’t just a minor car manufacturer, but an all-around green vehicle producer. They’ve made eco-friendly vehicles for airlines, individual consumers, and even the military. Green4U is manufacturing an electronic vehicle that has substantially lower operating cost than the leading brand. It’s the Great Value brand of electric cars.

VIA Motors

If you’ve seen a GM model car without the GM branding, chances are it’s a VIA motors vehicle. This manufacturer purchases GM cars and refurbishes them to be electric. They pull a quick switcheroo to sell a greener vehicle.

Zimmer

Known as the Golden Spirit of vehicles, Zimmer pushes the production of neoclassical cars. Whenever there’s an old car showcase, you might find a Zimmer model. They make them aesthetically pleasing without the utility of a standard car.

Lucid Motors

Lucid Motors specializes in electric vehicles. Coincidentally, close to 300 employees from Tesla Motors jumped ship to work at Lucid, so you know their cars are electrifying. The reason why there’s so many electric car companies in the state is because they all graduated from a traffic school California.

Faraday Future

Faraday Future isn’t just the name of the next great sci-fi novel. It’s an electric automotive startup that’s taking over the south. This company makes electric sports cars that aren’t just used for sport. They’re used for leisurely driving… at high speeds.

Local Motors

Local Motors makes their cars available to the public in more ways than consumer distribution. All their vehicles are open sourced and available to the public. Some of their vehicles include the autonomous bus or the completely 3D printed car.

Elio Motors

Elio Motors is pushing the boundaries with their innovation. Those boundaries being the line between car and motorcycle. This minor car brand recently released the three-wheeled autocycle. It’s an automobile containing everything you would find in your standard sedan, but without the unnecessary fourth wheel.

Vehicle Production Group

No – Vehicle Production Group isn’t the generic placeholder for a flashy name in the works. It’s the legitimate name of the company. They’re responsible for the design of most mobility vehicles. They’re highly accessible vans and cars are built with a large door and ramp.

OTR driver how to become a truck driver ny defensive driving course

Long-haul truck driving is a fascinating occupation that might appeal to many people. To answer the first obvious question, the money can be decent, especially in today’s economy. It gives drivers the opportunity to get out of their towns and see the country. More than anything else, becoming a truck driver, a part of the OTR drivers gang, is a great way to hit the reset button on a life and get a fresh start.

Unlike many careers, becoming a truck driver doesn’t require a four-year degree. You don’t need three years of experience as a truck driver to become a truck driver. In many cases, you never even have to touch the cargo. However, there are a few requirements and steps before you can start your new life.

Minimum Age and Driving Record

There are only a couple things that can really hold you back if you want to be an over the road (OTR) driver. First, the minimum age is 21. There’s no getting around that; it’s the minimum age limit handed down by the Department of Transportation. Next, your driving record must be reasonably clean. Being rear-ended won’t raise any eyebrows, but a few accidents where you’re at fault will. A speeding ticket earned at a young age is fine, but a bunch of points on your license can certainly stand in your way. Better take that NY Defensive Driving course to get those points down if you want a career as a truck driver!

Education

No college degree is required. For many trucking companies, a high school diploma isn’t required either, but it’s still definitely preferred. What companies do require is a valid CDL license.

Students will first need to obtain their CDL (commercial driver’s license) permit. That can be done through a written exam at their local DMV. They’d want to study the material first, then take and pass the permit test. After that, there are a couple of options open to them.

The first option is to pick a qualified, reputable truck-driving school. Most schools offer flexible schedules and can be completed in two weeks, if the student works hard. Schools will take the student all the way through obtaining the CDL, most even providing the truck necessary to take the road test. These schools require payment up front, which seems to be the only downside. On the other hand, many trucking companies offer tuition reimbursement, up to a certain amount. This is usually paid at a rate of $100-200 per month until the tuition is fully paid off.

The second option, which is better for those who don’t have much money saved up, is to go through paid training with their preferred trucking company. These programs are taught by many large trucking companies known for hiring (for lack of a better term) entry-level drivers. No experience is required. Most companies will provide transportation to the training facility for a stay of about two weeks. Room and board are also usually covered. During this paid training, students learn everything they need to know to become trainee truck drivers. Completion of the training also guarantees the new driver a job with the company. There is one drawback though. These programs cost nothing up front because the cost is usually applied to the driver’s paychecks for their first couple of years as a driver. New drivers end up paying much more than if they’d paid out of pocket for the first option.

On the Road Training

After completing the training and orientation for their chosen trucking companies, new drivers will be assigned a trainer. The trainer will take the trainee out on the road and teach them all the tips and tricks that simply can’t be learned elsewhere. Once the trainer and the company deem the new driver ready to drive solo, they are set free on the open road.
