A due date will not be applicable if you are taking the course voluntarily for insurance reduction / Safe Points. If you were ordered by the VA DMV to take this course, and your certificate is due today, you may also still take this course; since our course is provided entirely online, if you complete your course before midnight (PST) tonight, your completion date will be reflect today’s date and we report your completion to the Virginia DMV on your behalf. If you are taking the course because you were ordered by the court, and your certificate is due today, you should consider contacting the court for an extension because you still need to turn in your certificate to the Court. Ask your Court if they base completion submissions on the date the course was completed or if the certificate must be submitted by the due date.
The completion certificate will contain two identical certificates. We report your completion directly to the Virginia DMV on your behalf; however, if you were ordered by the Court to take this course, Virginia courts require that defendants submit a copy of their completion certificate to them directly either by mail or in-person so detach one of the certificates and submit it to the court. If you are taking the course for insurance reduction purposes, submit one certificate copy to your insurance company. You may retain one certificate copy for your records.
